Tater Tot in the big wide world

Hello again. It has been a little while since my last post on bringing home Tater Tot. So Tater has fit in with the family including our 5 yr old shepherd really well. He is a really laid back kind of dog and loves to cuddle and hang with whom ever unless he is trying to chase/play with our cat who wants nothing to do with him. He loves being outdoors play ball with us. He already hates it when one of leaves the house especially my oldest. We had to get him groomed the second week we had him. I couldn’t believe the amount of hair he was leaving.

We have decided to have Tater become a service dog for my daughter who has an anxiety issue. At this point we have labeled Tater a service dog in training. So with obedience training and good citizen training I believe Tater will be a great benefit for my daughter as well as himself. We brought Tater to his first rehab appointment last week. For the most part they thought he was in pretty good shape. We have made a second appointment. I will follow-up with more details on the first visit.

Me and my family recently fell in love with and adopted a tripawd dog named Tater Tot. Tater Tot is a one year old Australian Shepard/Boxer mix and is missing his front right leg. He is very loving and cuddly, he also is able to hold his own against his cousin a one year old black lab mix that is very over the top playful. We also have a 4 year old German Shepard that is still unsure of Tater Tot missing a leg. we have been taking Tater out shopping with us to let him get acclimated to being around new people which he is doing great with. We have bought him a harness to help him up onto the couch, into the car, etc. We have signed him up for a evaluation at a dog rehab center. We are trying to find stairs that are good for a tripawd to get onto low areas and are looking for other suggestions for what we might want to get him or work with him on.
